Lady at Costco thought my limit 1 per customer item didn’t apply to her because she’s a loyal member.

This woman instantly loses it. She goes, Well, I'm not just a member... I'm an Executive Member. I pay extra. That means the rules don't apply to me.

The poor cashier tried to explain again, calmly, that it's a warehouse-wide policy, not something they can override. The woman just kept arguing louder.

She said she spends thousands there. She said she's not like regular customers. She said if they don't ring it up, she'll cancel her membership today.

At this point, the manager comes over. He repeats the same thing: limit one per customer, no exceptions. She dramatically sighs and says, Fine. Then I'll just buy

The look on her face was priceless. She just grabbed her single case, paid, and stormed off muttering about lazy employees.

Meanwhile the cashier leaned over to me and whispered, Executive Members are still just members.

Nessie_of_the_Loch That's funny. Nearly half of all Costco members are executive too so she's not that special there either.

fairyfollower The manager is the Hero of the story. He is defending the cashier, and he basically says to the customer that she needs to act normal and that the rules also apply to her.

Disastrous_Emu_3628 My brother works at Costco and has for 7 years hes told me stories about people like this all the time. Costco has some of the worst entitlement in their customer base in regards to retail.
